Kan Tiang is probably the most beautiful beach on Koh Lanta where any side of the bay has a small reef where you will find a relatively good snorkeling. Kantiang bay has several good hotels and Pimalai Resort and Spa occupies the top position. The beach is extremely popular throughout the year and there is a certain sense of community due to its remoteness from the main tourist area of the island. |

 Kantiang bay is located on the southwest coast of Koh Lanta, approximately 45 minutes by taxi from Ban Saladan. It is much quieter, more isolated beach than Klong Dao or Long beach and it boasts the best part of soft golden sand of Koh Lanta, stretching for 2 km. People stay here mainly for the beautiful scenery and quiet.
Above the bay, on both sides of the road is Ban Kan Tiang village. Here you will find 7/11 minimart, some local shops including beachwear and souvenirs, as well as ATM, currency exchange, diving centre, massage parlor, travel-agency, restaurants and bars.
Access to the beach directly by motorbike in the south end, near Same Same but different restaurant - there is a small parking place  for a motorbikes. If you have decided to explore Kan Tiang beach from the northern part - turn right before 7/11 and head to Baan Lanta Resort & Spa, park inside and go down to the beautiful beach.

 Two kilometers is a very soft powdery sand stretches by smooth crescent from north to south creating in this part of Ko Lanta is the perfect tropical beach with the greatest width near the northern end of the bay surrounded by lush green mountain range that adds a touch of drama to the breathtaking scenery. Kan Tiang beach is considered to be the most beautiful place on Koh Lanta island. Relax, take a stroll along the soft sands of the beach, explore the local coral reefs by snorkeling located on both ends of the wide bay or enjoy a swimming.
The northern part of the beach ends on a high hill where on the slope like a swallow's nest are some hotels and resorts. Climb up the stairs in the Bay View restaurant with deck offering breathtaking views of Kantiang bay and Andaman sea.
 Thanks to its dimensions and location of the hotels - this beach is never crowded even in high season. Crystal clear emerald water flowing down into the depths allow you to enjoy a swim at any time of the day, both adults and young kids, and splashing around is better in the central and southern parts of Kan Tiang beach. The bay is well protected from bad weather and high waves.

Kan Tiang beach Activities |
 In Kan Tiang beach come for the beautiful scenery and quiet. Here you will not find any sun-beds for rent; the peace will not violate the roar of jet skis and speedboats, and beach vendors here also does not smell. It is advisable to take everything needed for swimming and sunbathing. All you need for a relaxing holiday on the beach - this is a mat or beach towel, unless you are guests of the resorts in this part of the island. The beach along the entire length is covered with tall trees giving cool shade on a hot day.
The beach can be divided into three areas. The northern end is rocky but pretty good for snorkeling, especially at high tide. The middle part is dominated by extensive sand dunes, covered with lush greenery. Near the southern end is Pimalai Resort and Spa.  The wide beach in this place is very spacious and is the most suitable to swim and splash in the sea. Also on the beach there is volleyball net in front Pimalai Resort and you can rent a wide range of facilities for water activities including sailing, kayaking and surfing.
At the southern end of Kan Tiang bay, if you go to the extremity of the tip, there is a small coral reef, explore which is better in the calm weather. There is very good visibility under water, creating excellent conditions for snorkelling. In Pimalai Resort there is a yoga studio. In the northern part of the beach you can get an inexpensive Thai massage or go for it in Ban Kan Tiang village. |

 Right on the beach you will find some beachfront restaurants in fact each of which belongs to a particular resort. A wonderful place for dining is located in the north end of Kan Tiang bay by name Bay View restaurant - delicious food seasoned with breathtaking sea views of the bay. Phu Pha View on hill-top of the southern tip will give you some fantastic photo 'sunset over Koh Lanta' and friendly atmosphere.
Same Same But Different near Pimalai Resort is a typical Thai restaurant made from bamboo and straw and set right on the beachline where your delicious food will cool fresh sea breezes. Pleasant evening and live music will be waiting for you in the northern end of the bay in Aqua bar and Shroom bar.
 If you have enough money and turned up special event - check out The Seven Seas restaurant & lounge, located on the hiil-top under the spreading Banyan tree at Pimalai Resort and Spa - unforgettable dinner is guaranteed!
As an alternative visit the local village where you can find a large choice of dining options and bars.

 Even in the busiest day you will share the beach with only a handful of people. Kan Tiang beach, surrounded by peace and quiet is a perfect getaway for honeymooners and romantic couples. The place is also very popular for family vacation. Kantiang bay is best known as the location of Pimalai Resort and Spa, the first luxury 5 star hotel on Koh Lanta.
