Koh Phangan is fifth biggest island in Thailand and one of those paradise islands-havens with coconut trees and idyllic, long white-sand beaches that the country is so famous for. Waiting for the emergence of a new airport, Phangan is located just 15km from Koh Samui and 68 km from the mainland with which it's connected by ferry services. Thong Sala town is the main port of disembarkation and is the capital of the island.
An almost unspoilt beauty of Koh Phangan has it all: stunning beaches; incredible dive sites; lush tropical jungle interior; and gushing waterfalls. The island is a unique combination of yin and yang, it is as challenging as it is satisfying, it's a place to relax and recharge the batteries and to throw your mind open to infinite possibilities. Koh Phangan is a place where magic can and often does happen, it is partying theatre at its very best.
Known for it's 'Moon' Parties and Music Festivals, Phangan is one of the most important clubbing destinations in the world. And, in the shape of the Full Moon Party Koh Phangan, it also has a little something extra, where Thai hedonism just about reaches its apogee at this (in) famous beach party that takes place every month during the full moon attracting up to 30,000 party-goers at New Year’s Eve.
