Getting Around Koh Chang
|

 Because of its great size, climate and mountainous terrain, Koh Chang is not the best place to walk. Most of the beaches, separated by steep slopes are a good distance from each other, the roads have a tendency to be unpredictable, suggesting to you that it is better to travel by taxi to catch that during the low season it is very difficult or you have to pay a decent amount of money.
Alternative in any beach in Koh Chang you can rent a motorbike. Rentals also offer cars, including jeeps, but the auto is to take the best when you are traveling with your family or friends. The bike is a safe and fun way to travel, but it is not recommended for trips between beaches, or up and down hills, as you will need great power. |

 Koh Chang Taxi

 This is a local vehicle 'songtaew' that is a passenger pickups, providing a regular service along Koh Chang main road. There are no stops and all that is required from you is to vote for the driver or if you've already been inside to press the bell in the place where you want to go out.
In most areas of the island your best chance to catch songtaews will be on the main road. Drivers sometimes honking passers-by, hoping to catch additional passengers. |

Taxi drivers from Dan-Kao-Pier usually do not go south along Koh Chang East coast.
To get to Salak Phet village you need to take a taxi from Dan-Mai-Pier or Than-Mayom Pier or rent privatly taxi in any other location on the island after agreeing a price for the trip. |

Rent a Motorbike in Koh Chang |
 Trip around Koh Chang island by motorbike is a great idea, but also extremely dangerous because the accident insurance is not usually included in the rent agreement - no matter what You say the owners. The most dangerous for ride areas of Koh Chang main road are between Ao Klong Son bay and White Sand beach, and between Kai Bae beach and Lonely beach. In other places the road is easy and is relatively flat terrain.
In Koh Chang you can rent two types of motorbikes. Motorbike with engines from 100-120 CC, and for more serious enthusiasts - big bikes. Around the island there are many shops rented motorbike. Be very careful in the rain, beware of sleeping on the road dogs, not nauseate on chickens and other animals (in any case, you have to pay a fine to the owner of the animals). Don't forget to wear a helmet - you can meet the police check, especially along the West coast. Fine (200 - 400 Bath depending on your age). The price for renting a motorbike (volume 110-120 cm) : 200-250 Bath/day in low season and 300-350 Bath/day during high season. Rent a Car in Koh Chang |
| One of the best ways to see Koh Chang's attractions is to rent a car, get a map and become your own boss. The island straddles the main road running along the west coast and further north and then along Koh Chang east coast till Salak Phet bay. This idea is fun, easy and best of all and most importantly cheap, especially with regard to time. In addition, if you travel with family car will be the best choice, especially during the rainy season. Rates for rentals during the high season (2014): 1200 - 1800 Bath/day, depending on the type of car and rental period. |
