 How to Get to Phra Ae (Long) beach
|
 Phra Ae beach is located in the north-western part of Koh Lanta and is a 10-15 minute by taxi from Ban Saladan ferry pier. The main road gently hugs the beachline passing a few dozen metres from the beach which is dissected in the centre of the small freshwater canal.
The road along the beach is replete with minimarts, including 7/11, food vendors, restaurants and nightlife spots, so you will always have the alternative to a hotel dining. Here is a dental and medical clinic, department of tourist police and many massage parlors.

Phra Ae (Long) beach |
 Because Long beach is the longest on the island - you'll have to spend a lot of time to explore all of its contents. The northern part of Long beach is
hidden
in the shade of the Casuarina trees among which nestled
luxury hotels and resorts.
The beach is gently leans into the sea creating a perfect place for swimming on a hot day. The best thing about long beach is that even in high season the place seems pretty deserted. Because the resorts, hotels, bars and restaurants scattered along the entire length of the beach and are nestled among the trees, the beach itself remains widely open only there are very few sun loungers and beachfront restaurants. All this gives Phra Ae beach airy feeling of space.
The southern part of Long beach beginnig near Lanta Marina Resort - rocky shore without any signs of beach. Further north past the private villas, the beach begins to expand and after Nautilus resort acquires its true dimensions.

Phra Ae (Long) beach Activities |
You can rent sun loungers in the southern part of Long beach near Lanta Sanctuary. Here to the left from Bong beach bar is Jai Dee Massage pavilion. Having a large bamboo arbor right on the beach local therapists provide services Thai massage, aromatherapy massage, foot massage from 300 Bath per hour. Facilities for water activities, including sailing, you can find in any resort.
In fact, every hotel in Long beach has everything you need for beach activities. This is a swimming pools, loungers, sunbeds, parasols, showers and toilets. Toilets can also be found in the center of the beach where there is a small shady Phra Ae park with a large parking lot, benches and food venders.
Towards evening, when the low tide the beach becomes wide enough to play football or volleyball. In the northern part of Phra Ae beach for these purposes set volleyball net.

 You can always get a perfect view of the beach and a bit of shade from the restaurants and bars which look face directly into the sea - and of course a cold drink in your hand or good and tasty food.
There is a large collection of different restaurants here offering a wide choice of both Thai and international food. Mr. Wee's restaurant serves legendary pizza, next to it - Ozone bar where there is complete chill-out by mostly nights except Thursday night when the place hosts beach parties. Another good bar - Funky Fish. From beachfront dining can advise Sanctuary restaurant and beach restaurants in Layana Resort and Casuarina. Long beach's bars also offers the perfect location to watch the amazing sunsets on Koh Lanta which painted the sky over the ocean in all the colors before the sun finally goes over the horizon. Because Long beach has quite wide uninterrupted views of the horizon, the place is very convenient, especially for photo.

Long beach is the second main beach on Koh Lanta's north-west coast and the closest beach to Ban Saladan and the main sea gate of the island. All hotels in Long beach can be reached in 15-20 minutes by tuk-tuk from the ferry pier. The Northern part of the beach is occupied by luxury hotels and resorts, while medium and budget options offers cheap and comfortable accommodation located in the centre and in the southern end of Long beach.
