Buddhist Temple in Koh Phangan

A beautiful hilltop temple, Wat Maduea Wan is very revered place of worship among ordinary residents. 'Maduea' is the leaf of special kind of tree. According to the legend, in this place many centuries ago Buddha left his footprint. The staircase leads to the top of a hill, where you'll find an ancient temple, which is the cultural attraction of the island.

At bottom of a hill you will find the main temple's building and many durian trees. The two enormous mystical five-headed serpent nagas standing on each side of the staircase make quite an impressive entrance. |

Phaeng waterfall consists of two waterfalls Phaeng Noi (small) and Phaeng Yai (big) close to each other. Belonging to to the Thansadej - Koh Phangan National Park this is the largest waterfall in Koh Phangan and it looks stunnigly beautiful in the monsoon season. Read more... |
