The charm of this fishing village wooden houses built on piles and set to sea. Cute buildings are linked by a long pier.
Bang Bao Bay was a holy place for the local fishing boats that took hideaway from monsoon for more than a century. Recently lagoon has become a popular tourist destination, appeared recreation area with bungalows and hotels built on the beautiful beaches, cozy restaurants offering fresh seafood and numerous souvenir shops.

These are the two largest communities on Koh Chang is located at Salak Peth Bay, which is the largest on the island . Villagers, mostly fishermen. Salak Peth Bay is an ideal refuge for fishing boats. There are many piers that serve the fishing schooners and boats and yachts traveling to nearby islands and to the mainland to Laem Ngob pier.
Ban Long Than village located on the western side of the bay is the main place of residence for the local population. The temple is known as Atulapornbanpot Monastery and Wat Salak Peth Temple - the main spot for religious festivals and ceremonies.
