 Have you ever seen Haad Chao Phao Beach? Imagine a stretch of white sands 500m long with lush greenery and coconut trees leaning toward the emerald sea. There are no big hotels, tailor shops or luxury beach clubs in the area, and absolutely no buzzing jet skis or speedboats. If you're staying on Koh Phangan this magical beach easy to find, just drive to the north through a tropical landscape of coconut groves from Thong Sala port and within 15 min you'll reach Haad Chao Phao's quiet shores.
Haad Chao Phao is one of the best beaches on Koh Phangan West coast with fine white sand, laid back vibe and a great sunset.
Thanks to a big coral reef the sea shelf drops steeply making Haad Chao Phao a good year round swimming beach, but from April on there is low water that swimming is difficult before reaching the coral reef. As a tourist destination, Haad Chao Phao beach has developed slowly, however on the FMP night things liven up with beach venues throwing pre-party revelries. |

 Getting there
|
 You will have no problem finding a taxi in Thong Sala to take you to Haad Chao Phao beach. Alternative many of hotels in Haad Chao Phao offer a free pick-up service from/to Thong Sala pier. Otherwise taxi fare should be 150 baht/per one way. Around Haad Chao Phao you also can rent a motorbike or car.
There are two ways to ride Haad Chao Phao beach:
- from Thonsala along Koh Phangan west coast. This way is more tiresome;
- the road starts from Thong Sala's Tesco Lotus. Follow the road and turn left at T-intersection to Sri Thanu village. Next T-junction (with fresh fruit market and 7-eleven) turn right. This easy way is the
more free traffic
and the most short.

 A great number of the beachside restaurants and bars with menus featuring Thai and International food, as a fresh seafood and western favorites by reasonable priced are set under the trees at beachfront resorts. You'll find even Italian and Belgian cusine here.
There are not beach food-vendors in Haad Chao Phao, however you can order sandwiches, ice creams, cut fruit and a range of drinks that includes real fruit smoothies, soft drinks and juices directly from the beachside bars and restaurants.

Haad Cao Phao Beach Activities |
 There are impressive reef only 100 metres off the beach with colorful tropical fish and hard corals to enjoy. The snorkelling at both ends of the beach is great,
but more exciting at the Northern end of the beach around the big
rocks
about 50 m off shore. Masks and fins can be rented on the beach or bought in Haad Yao divers shop is located on the main road next Phangan Cabana resort.
On Haad Chao Phao Beach you can try kayaking for around 100 baht an hour. Head north towards Haad Son Beach where the coastline is less untouched.
Information for fans of Yoga: you can enjoy yoga sessions in the morning and in the afternoon with Sunny from 'Just Yoga' on their comfortable platform facing the sea.
 In fact every hotel in Haad Chao Phao offers Thai massage, both on the beach and away. Treatments available: Traitional Thai Massage, reflexology (foot Massage), aromatherapy and other kinds of massages.  The marine area south and north of Haad Chao Phao is good spot for fascinating fishing right from the rocky shore. Alternatively you can order fishing tour wwith locals fishermans, who will be happy to show you the best fishing spots arond Koh Phangan.
