 How to Get to Klong Prao beach
|
 Klong Prao beach is located on Koh Chang's west coast in the central part of the island. To Klong Prao Beach can be reached from Dan-Kao-Pier or Centerpoint pier by taxi for 30min, pay 80-100 Bath.
In Klong Prao village there are shops, minimarkets, restaurants, bars and gas stations. In Baan Klong Prao 100 metres from the road is a small medical clinic. Opening hours: Monday - Friday from 08.30 to 16.30.

The Beach |
The Northern and the southern part of Klong Prao is a long strip of sandy beaches an average of about 1.5 kilometers. In the north it end by Laem Chai Chet rocks. The southern sector which is called Klong Makok Beach is bordered by Kai Bae Beach. The beach is quite flat like everything else on the west coast and is well suited for swimming. Klong Prao broken river channel into two parts and there are many nice places. 
If not to consider Chai Chet beach located at the north end of the bay - Klong Prao beach begins near Klong Prao Resort where Koh Chang main road turns to the east. In this place the beach is wide white sand strip stretching to the south, where it rests in a deep freshwater canal along which under the shade of tall Casuarina trees stretches of desert Sunset beаch, which is the relax place for guests of AANA Resort and Spa. Long and wide channel, extending deep into the island, decorate houses and seafood restaurants. In this part of Klong Prao beach is covered with fine white and soft sand and in water there are no rocks or coral, making it one of the best beaches on the island, especially for children.
That would get for the middle part of Klong Prao you will need to rent a kayak or be reached by Koh Chang main road. In this place of the island, Klong Prao beach stretches south for almost two kilometers ending high rocky promontory which leads to Kai Bae beach. The northern end of white beach occupied affordable bungalows and restaurants. Further south you will find luxury Panviman Resort Koh Chang, Barali Resort and Koh Chang Tropicana Resort near the beach which again is dissected by shallow channel. All along the beach decorated with lush vegetation and beach umbrellas in some places, you will find lots of shady places and shallow clear waters are ideal for swimming for all family.

However, before The Dewa Koh Chang beach is wide and here you can play football or beach volleyball. Two small islets: Ko Suwan island and Ko Rom island are located at the end of the southern part of Khlong Prao Beach. Close to beach and the hotel is on a main road.

Klong Prao beach Facilities |
 The beach itself no has many amenities and service. Most of the public facilities, like toilets and internet cafes can be found along both sides of Klong Prao main road passing not too far from the beach.
Sun loungers and umbrellas usually offers by hotels and resorts, other visitors for a small fee. However, all you need for a good relax on the sandy beach is wide towel or mat, and cool shade to be found in Klong Prao beach is not too difficult. |

Beach vendors |
 Don't be surprised if you suddenly find in Klong Prao beach vendors who are interested in your person, in the moment of your holiday on the beach. Expect to see the usual mix of tourist knick-knacks, the type of scarves, bracelets and necklaces. To avoid contact with the walking shop, try not to pay attention to them and not to make eye contact unless you are planning something to buy.
Sometimes you will offer to buy the items causing you confusion or smile. A polite refusal is everything necessary to ensure that they will leave you alone, but ice cream sellers are usually more annoying. If you just want to look at the goods, this does not mean that you have to buy. |

 Klong Prao beach hotels and resorts have an excellent choice of restaurants serving a variety of cuisine ranging from Thai and international favorites to pan-asian and of course fresh seafood. In addition Klong Prao beach can offer some simple but good restaurants where local specialization is also charming and fresh seafood. In Klong Prao Resort in two steps from the beach there is a mini market where you can buy snacks, ice creams and drinks.
Restaurants serving local Thai food and popular western can be found along the main road. Dishes of North-Eastern Thailand like spicy salad of papaya, fried chicken and minced pork fried rice and basil leaves sold in many restaurants in the area especially around the entrance to Khlong Plu waterfall. If you want to eat well, take a look at Kati Culinary and Yummy Hut, both located near the road next to the elephant camp. In Kati offer excellent Thai food, one of the best on Koh Chang. Try it and if you do not like - you are not a connoisseur of Thai food. But don't expect fast service, all prepared from scratch and takes time until the dish gets to your table.
There is a large variety of inexpensive fresh seafood and fish thanks to the fishing village. If you want tasty and inexpensive diner in Klong Prao beach head for the southern end of the beach, where beside THE EMERALDCOVE KOHCHANG Resort you will find two Thai restaurant, standing on stilts in the sea. Excellent food spiced with delightful views of Klong Prao bay.

 From the northern end of the beach towards Kai Bae Beach, begins long road 2.5 km to the most popular waterfall on the island - Khlong Phu Waterfall. If you are interested in the Buddhist religion you can visit the local Wat Klong Prao temple located in the village in the central part of Klong Prao.
You can also visit Chang Chutiman Elephant Camp located half a kilometer from the main road where in 2007 within three weeks of august were born three elephants.

 Given its size and lack of jet-skis and banana boats, parachutes and other rapid means of transport, Klong Prao beach is perfect for other activities - building sand castles, flying saucers or picnic. Feel the urge to play a volleyball or football? Ask someone from the hotel nearby, probably they will try to set your grid.
The opposite shore of the river mouth crammed with half a dozen buildings, lush mangroves and coconut palms. Here, you can travel a couple of miles upstream by kayak or take a stroll past Aana Resort being then in the lagoon both banks of which are covered with thickets of mangrove trees. In the evenings, the area along the river is filled with thousands of lights. It's fireflies. Good night mangrove trees glow like a christmas tree.
Near intersection of elephant camp, between Kati Culinary and Yummy Hut restaurants is located Sima Massage is an excellent choice if you want to get really Thai Massage to soothe the pain or stress the muscles and not the high tourist prices. The wizard also do massage of biologically active points, many patients have tried it and they all say that it has done wonders with their disease, since injuries from automobile accidents to sprains of the muscles and tendons.
Being a great beach on Koh Chang, Klong Prao is perfect for all kinds of activity and is especially popular - kayaking along the mangroves and travel by kayak to the nearby islands: Koh Yuak and Koh Pli, where you will wait for good snorkeling. |

 The beach is the location of some of the most luxurious resorts and hotels on the island with such famous names as: Panviman Resort, Barali Beach Resort Koh Chang Tropicana and The EmeraldCove Resort, the entire range is from four to five stars. Don't forget to budget travelers offering a wide selection of guest houses and budget resorts.
Let's start with the northern part. Unless you are looking for a strip of beer bars in the area, Chai Chet village there is nothing special to hold your attention but there are a few popular resorts, many small shops and restaurants in the north end of Klong Prao beach. Klong Prao is very similar to located on Chaweng beach Samui or Patong in Phuket, meaning that Klong Prao beach is a long beach, a large amount of real estate on the shore and lands in front of the sea and like all small towns began to grow, gradually turning into a tourist destination with long stretches of white beaches and roads along which there are restaurants, houses, karaoke bars, auto-moto shops and beauty salons.
Currently, the leader in attendance on Koh Chang island is a White Sand Beach, but its further development is limited by lack of available land, that is if something and build something along the main road.
While in Klong Prao there is more unused land available for the construction of new resorts. And if the development of the island to continue in the direction of this idea that government and local developers would like to see Klong Prao main town on Koh Chang island. If you are heading in Klong Prao from Khai Mook Beach on the way will meet a lot of beer bars, small shops, plus a few resorts offering long stay where you can stay another day. After gas station begins the northern part of Klong Prao beach. This is the most developed area. Here you can find a good selection of shops and many tour operators including Evolution tour and CocoDeeBo (usually both are recommended in order for something to dilute your holidays or to make plans for the future) bank, some ATM, supermarket, numerous small restaurants located inside shopping malls, standing on the left side of the road. In the place where the road turns to the east (near Klong Prao resort) you will find many small shops, massage parlors and Thai restaurants.
 Halfway down, on the right you will see Bodiwork Spa's training academy. If your budget is not calculated on a daily visit SPA, can come here and free to give your body at the mercy of students.
Next to Koh Chang Plaza shopping complex is the rent motorbikes and cars and if we look at the area you can find several ateliers, diving schools and a pretty good Thai restaurant called "Yes". In this place on the right side of the road you will find an optician and a huge advertising sign advertising the store. Behind optics, hidden from view is Boutique Resort offering a handful of spacious, but dull bungalows with AC. Located near Coconut Beach Resort built with a strange architectural design. Fortunately they also have some much better the new bungalows on the beach, which offer good accommodation in the Klong Prao plus a couple of bungalows built previously and standing near beachfrontl restaurant. On a rocky promontory at the end of 2007 was built Chai Chet Resort with swimming pool, beachfront restaurant where in addition to a great menu attached magnificent views of the bay.
Klong Prao Resort has several old rooms, but if you are a lover of comfort and love to fall asleep with the waves lapping offers Vip room near the beach or the new bungalows on the lagoon in a modern design and equipped with everything necessary. Another plus is a great elongated beach. This place is very popular with tourists! On the road leading to the entrance of the resort built several buildings and modules shops. Here you can find cheap restaurants, rent a motorbike, make diving courses, print business cards and buy some piece of art. With this location about 10 min walk to the main road, in the Northern part of the beach where there is a supermarket and shopping Plaza. Here you can take a taxi and get to Klong Prao village or in Kai Bae beach.
 The southern part of Klong Prao beach. The main road wobbling near the coastline passes through Klong Prao village before again come to the beach along the southern end of Klong Prao beach. The southern area is built-up in the best hotels on Koh Chang island plus a few inexpensive bungalows mainly for backpackers. In most cases the southern part of the beach is preferred by people with average incomes. About a kilometer south of Klong Prao resort you can find some made in haste shops, ateliers and a small bakery. Not far from this place the road is 4 stars Ramayana Koh Chang Resort owners which I hope to gullible people believing that there is easy access to the beach but the hotel rooms are really comfortable and inexpensive.
In 200 metres, Aana Resort offers some of its best bungalows on the island but not standing on the beach. The resort's restaurant is a bit questionable but there are two good dinner options under the names of Pu-Talay and Iyara and on the banks of a river mouth you can find a good Thai seafood restaurants, with excellent service. However, the boatman diurese during the day near Aana Resort will gladly take you there. The lowest price on accommodation in the Klong Prao can also be found here, but only along the road. Near the beach there are budget options KP Huts, Tiger Huts and Thale Bungalows at prices not inferior Panviman, Barali and Tropicana resort. South of Tropicana located Blue Lagoon, offering a quiet and peaceful accomodation. There are also teaching great Thai cuisine classes. At low tide you can walk along the beach and look at the wealthy vacationers in recently built The Dewa.
In the village there is a Tesco Lotus Express, two 7/11, Sing Thong supermarket, bakery, ATM and excellent Pu Laundry located 50 metres down the track adjacent to Eco Divers. In the laundry affordable prices for excellent quality so it's used by many tourists living in the surrounding hotels and local residents.
Here accepts private PP Clinic and a dentist in Baan More Fun. Both offer a wide range of therapeutic and beauty services. And if you dream of a hollywood smile in a tidy person head here.
Lucky people living in Amari and in the nearby uniquely designed luxury Dewa resort have no choice as to tailor their orders to perform in the studio near the access road to the resorts. It's Morrissey Australian designer excellent job.
