 Local Thai people call this island - Koh Ngai, but residents of nearby islands know it by the name of Koh Hai. Tropical paradise is the closest to Ko Lanta's east coast. Koh Ngai, Krabi is best island for nature lovers, especially those who are also fans of sea, snorkeling, sun and sand holidays.
Ko Ngai covered in lush green tropical forests, isolated romantic beaches and has a reef a few miles which goes around the island on all sides. On the long beach is conveniently nestled just eight resorts making this tiny paradise place feel spacious and secluded.

 How to Get Koh Ngai Island
|
 Koh Ngai island is a sub-district of Koh Lanta, Krabi. Through a small island routes of ferries and speed-boats from Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lanta in Koh Lipe and Langkawi, as well as a large number of boat tours. To Koh Hai you can get from Lanta and from Trang, although most travelers prefer the second option. Before the trip stock up on cash - there are no ATMs and exchange rates in hotels can break your budget.
From Koh Lanta to the island have daily Express-ferry departing at 09:00 and arriving in Koh Hai 10:30. During the high season introduced an additional route at 14:30 - arrival at 15:00. The ticket price is 400 Вath. Back from Koh Ngai to Koh Lanta : 10:00 - 11:30 and 15:00 - 16:30. Also during peak season (November - March) in Koh Hai can be reached by speedboat. Koh Ngai Beaches |
 Really paradise Koh Ngai (Koh Hai) sizes 4 km long and 2 km wide in fact has only one large beach that stretches for several kilometers along the east coast. A wide strip of white sand, crystal-clear emerald water, lots of sun and shady trees, and the views of Koh Chuek island, Koh Mook and Koh Ma islands and about a dozen resorts - here is a sample picture of the main beach of Koh Ngai.
The island has no roads - all transfers by boat or by foot through the trails leading to the south of Koh Hai, where there are two large bay (one is coconut plantation), with good snorkeling, but they are uninhabited and two viewing points. The entire island is covered with dense tropical forest inhabited by giant lizards and monkeys feeding on crabs. The west coast of Koh Ngai is a high rocky shore with dense forest overhanging the water and this is a good place for bird watchers, who come to observe migratory birds. |

On restaurants's menu - seafood, popular Thai and international food, seasoned with views of the Andaman sea.
Great choice of cusine, friendly service in the restaurant of Thapwarin Resort and Rayabura restaurant which also has a champagne. In Ko Hai Fantasy resort there is a small mini-market by name Take Away- food, beach clothes and cosmetics, glasses, drinks, ice cream and every little thing you can forget at home. |

Koh Ngai Activities - What to Do |
 Koh Ngai has some great coral reefs along its coastline, making it perfect for snorkeling. The most popular activity on Koh Ngai (Koh Hai) is sea kayaking, scuba diving by Rainbow Divers club (in the period from November to April), boat tours to Koh Mook island to discover Morakot (Emerald) cave and snorkeling, both independently and neighbouring Koh Ma and Koh Kradan islands. Rent a boat in Koh Ngai is as simple as hire a motorbike in Phuket - you only need to be able to bargain.
Next time sleep, eat, drink, walk along the beach in search of seashells, go to Thai massage, build sand castles or explore the inner space of the island going to trekking along the forest trails. After spend a day on the beach if you still have some energy left, a walk up to the viewpoint to enjoy the wonderful seascape. |

Koh Ngai Information |
 Koh Ngai is located 15 kilometers from Koh Lanta and weather of the two islands differ little from each other. Year-round average temperature is in between 24°C to 32°C. Best time to travel is from November to April. At this time, the sea is always calm, no rain, blowing a cool breeze, and the average temperature ranges at 28°C.
Locals enjoy June, July and August, since the weather is usually fine, and travelers at this time is a little lower. In this period are short but heavy rainfall and between rains usually the sun is shining brightly and everything around becomes much cheaper. Temperatures are between 20C and 33C. |

Fantastically beautiful Koh Ngai island located to the south of Koh Lanta consists of at least eight hotels/resorts ranging from simple bungalows with fan and ending private pool villa with modern amenities. They are all on the same beach, so expect daily to see the same faces. During the high season prices are relatively high, however is preferably in advance to take care of booking. At least you will be able to find place in the camping - tent with mattress will cost you 600 Bath per day.
